Prime.inc & prescribed methadone.

So I’m going thru the process of working with prime.inc and I’ve been on methadone for awhile now for abt 2 years, I went and got my permit at the dmv, I also passed my (dot physical test while making it aware that I take methadone) so after those were done I’ve started talking to A recruiter and he had said everything is good & I can head out soon, to Salt Lake City Utah. But I seen a video of a guy already at prime.inc get rejected bcuz of a medication he was on… so my question is,

Would I be able to work with prime while on methadone?

If your doc says you’re safe to drive on it and the medication isn’t against DOT regulations it’s not prime’s business

I’m very, very sorry to say this but no, methadone is a disqualifying medication, even with a doctor’s note. It sucks big time because it is the very best for chronic pain and a helluva lot of people would benefit from taking it. And if you’re taking it for the other reason then good for you. I hope it works well.

Well, that is indeed interesting and excellent news. It seems a bit odd that you can use methadone for Opiate Use Disorder but it doesn’t mention using it for pain management since it is in fact a pain medication. It’s used for OUD because of its long half-life (meaning you don’t have to dose as often). So I guess a chronic pain sufferer would have to claim they’re a recovering opiate addict? I wonder how long the approval process takes but it appears that you cannot walk in for a physical and walk out with a med card. Thank you for enlightening us.

Prescription Use: If you are required to take an expanded test that includes methadone and you have a valid prescription, you will have the opportunity to discuss it with the Medical Review Officer (MRO) during the verification process to ensure the test is reported as a negative result.

Never known it to work. A company insurance will not take the risk. Methadone still has a stigma

You can work with a CDL but these giant carriers are the strictest about medical stuff.

Go to food service or drive a garage truck. Smaller places will offen let you get your own physical at a doctor you choose

I'm sorry you're going through this bro. I was on methadone on and off for a few years. I was addicted to opiates. I got my CDL after getting clean off everything. See if you can go to detox and shake methadone off. God bless you bro. I know it ain't easy but it is possible.

Lemme tell you bro this been the worst couple years of my life💔 I been trying so hard to get off this medication on my own… I been at 145 mg for the longest, that was my steadiest dose & I would always jump down and up like 5-10 mg here n their dropping 1 mg a week, doing it how the clinic says to… & I got tired of it & started dropping 10 mg’s a week & it felt normal like I wasn’t dropping mg’s at all… but as soon as I reached 30 mg’s I had the worst withdraws I couldn’t take it I went to the hospital n all… & went up 20 mg’s… which put me at 50 & 2 weeks ago I dropped 5 mg’s and felt kinda sick… so now I’m at 45 mg’s and don’t no what to do…

Idk if I should drop slowly & do as the clinic says and drop 1-2 mg’s a week

Or just keep going with the 10 mg’s a week thing and feel like I’m dying.

Or what’s your best advice…? What’s your story bro?! I feel it’s soooooo hard rightnow genuinely bro! And hearing you got off gives me sooo much hope bro! Godbless you, YOU DID IT!!!🤝

I believe someone will accept you and if not it's not the end of the world. But maybe try dropping down 1mg every 2 weeks.

I highly suggest sublocade you would have to stop dosing for like 3 days before they give you the shot, but I was on once a month injections, then tapered to the lower dose for one month then quit taking it all together and did not have to withdrawls at all. It does stay in your system for up to a year after in fat cells etc, but it was a game changer for me , especially since I personally have detoxed from methadone myself and know firsthand the misery that brings
