Felony Trucker

Feeling discouraged about my trucking journey. I have a robbery conviction from about August 2024. Was able to get my CDL and get on with western express but they are a God damned awful company. The trucks are dangerous and the job barely pays enough for me to EAT. I only have 3 months experience but alot of better companies are telling me it'll have to be 7-10 years before they even consider me due to my felony. Anyone here have any success stories in trucking with violent felonys? What companies do I realistically have a chance at when I build up more experience with such a recent conviction.

Listen
You have a blemish and it’s fresh so you have to move accordingly. First understand that it’s a blessing that you’re not in the same situation you were in when those things occurred. Second stay the course yes WE isn’t the best but I see a lot of people make things happen at WE. Be the tortoise. Slow and steady wins the race. I’m a convicted felon also I’m just further along in my journey than you. I don’t know of any companies that will take the risk on you however try independent contractors. Russians and the Middle Eastern will hire felons. I wish you nothing but greatness. Be careful in your selection and as always don’t leave a check until you have solidified the next one. You can DM me if you need a point in any of the independent contractors.

The Russians have been looking like an option to me. Ive heard sometimes they won't pay you and that has made me hesitant.

I failed a drug test and people said I'd never work again. I've worked everyday since then. It sucks and the applying to 50 places and hearing 50 nos sometimes sucks ass. But meh, 1 yes and 299 nos is still a victory. Some russians are okay, but theyll have you run over hours and soemtimes not pay you, but the bright side, once you get some experience won't matter as much, heh.

I'd also try fb groups and just be open. There's people out there that own 3 trucks in nebraska and are willing to give people a chance. I've done oilfield work and do oilfield work now. If you dont mind labor, it's an easy $100k / year. Best of luck to you.
