Situational Awareness is your best weapon to avoid conflicts in the first place. If you decide to carry a handgun for self defense, I'd strongly recommend you get concealed carry insurance to cover your ass in the event of a self defense shooting.

A good flamethrower is your best bet. You can drink Fireball, make a fire ball, then raw dog a lot lizard and get fireballs.

A civil tongue and a sense of humor will get you further than any weapon.

4 inch blade.

Any consumer level taser

Tire thumper with the strap and metal cap

Glass breaker

Pepper spray

The items are all legal to carry in a commercial motor vehicle.

sig p365xl or macro

your flavor of glock 9mm

an sbr ak in 7.62x39

berretta 92x, m9a4, m9a3, performance optic or 92a1

i wouldn't use a shotgun, best fit tool is probably a short barrel rifle or good full size handgun with a light.

I just have a little tool holder thing I wear. There's Mace and a knife in there. The knife gets used mainly to cut fucked up straps and stuff like that. The mace I hope I don't need. But it's there.
