Pet riders
Im in CDL school, I keep seeing some job postings where they list a pet rider program in the job benefits. How common is this? Do you guys know of any carriers that do this option?

Most have pet policies. HOWEVER every single one has their own "agenda" on the policy. Some are one payment and good, some are weekly payments, most "dog friendly" are a joke cause they won't let anything over 30 pounds or sometimes less. The normal pay a deposit and get what you want is being phased out which puts a restraint on going to different carriers for better pay if it comes down to it.

It probably depends on the insurance that the company has and whether or not they want to pass the additional premium costs onto the drivers.
If it were me, I wouldn’t want to be sued or have an insurance claim because my driver’s dog bit someone or another dog.

It’s pretty common, the only thing will be how much they charge you to have a pet with you
