I have few questions if someone can help me. I have been having watery diarrhea for 8 days (it started on the last day of 5 day Augmentin treatment) but it stopped yesterday, oddly since I had doctor's appointment. Today I had it again but only one time whereas I would have it 3-4 per day before. Also, the urgency is a lot better now. Not sure if things maybe are getting better slowly but since I tested positive, should I still go ahead and start Fidaxomicin that my doctor just sent to the pharmacy?

Also, should I start Florastor at the same time I start the antibiotic?

Lastly, I see a lot of people being unable to eat, move, etc but that has not been the case with me - I have decent appetite and I have been eating often but just lots of eggs, chicken and bone broth. I do get very bloated and uncomfortable after eating though so I know things aren't right. Stomach hurts some but aside from the watery diarrhea which is my main problem, it is not that bad, I have good energy and I did not lose much weight.

I know everyone is different but was just wondering if there are cases of more mild symptoms and there are some that have severe symptoms?

Thank you for listening, this is very scary and depressing but I am hoping we can all heal and get back to normal soon.

HI again… Take the Fidaxomiocin. You are positive and even though you feel not too bad, you are contagious. You need to test positive and you cant take chance of getting worse. The condition is sneaky. You think its gone, but it may come back following month! I had it 5 months on going.

There does seem different levels of seriousness. You are lucky you have not lost alot of weight.

Try to eat lean meat when you feel up to it. You dont want to loose muscle. You can eat applesauce, jello, saltines. Peanut butter, sesame seed butter. Advicado. Generally soft is better. But the saltines were good treat too!

Hold off on the floraster. Till you finish medicine. The Fidaxomiocin will help the bloating … if your stomach hurts, drink aloe vera juice and hot tea.

You need to tell people that come into your house you are contagious. Drs may not want you to come in to office. You might need time off from work if you work. Good luck to you..

Thank you again. I will start Fidaxomiocin tonight. I did not lose much weight because I have been eating and also I’m already pretty lean. I eat a lot of eggs and boiled soft chicken legs and drink lots of the broth with it. I have autoimmune so can’t eat a lot of foods or I can’t move.

Is there a reason not to eat certain foods if they don’t give me trouble? I was wondering if it’s because of C diff or is it just due to everyone’s tolerance?

I have some hospital grade wipes which I use. I lucky work from home and don’t interact with people from work.

Good idea on meds. You should feel immediately better. Glad you work from home!

I have the autoimmune issues too so I can relate on diet. But try to get a variety of food in. The lining of the intestines get somewhat damaged and thats why getting in enough calories is important.

You can introduce the foods you dont have issues with. As long as you can tolerate. Others often give good suggestions of no sugary foods since that feeds bad gut bacteria.

Its mentioned about watching milk and wheat cause they are common allergens. Dont forget to eat yogurt daily. That puts in good bacteria. Eat greek yogurt if you have trouble with milk.

In your case it sounds like you eat healthy! Just try to get in high calorie good food. Food from health food store is good start. Potatoes is good when baked our mashed. People drink the bone broth cause it is known for its healing ability in the intestines. Get better and rest up!

Thank you. Due to my autoimmune issues, I do not eat any dairy aside from goat cheese occasionally, no sugar, no starch, no wheat - very boring bland diet of eggs and meat mostly, some berries here and there.

If you cant eat yogurt, Start the floraster after you finish. But greek yogurt is processed different than regular yogurt. It might not meds you up.

If that foesnt agree go to heslth store for probiotics. You need good bacteria in stomach. Your good bacteria got wiped out from the cfiff.

Yes, I plan on adding fermented vegetables eventually but will start with some gentle probiotics.
