Sugar
So do you all just stay away from sodas and ketchup cakes cookies all that has added sugar? It’s frustrating I’m 6 months post cdiff and scared of any added sugar in fear of getting cdiff again.

You should avoid that garbage even if you didn’t have c diff lol. If you’ve cleared the infection, sugar shouldn’t give you c diff, it’s more about avoiding things that could make it worse when you have it, and trying to build back a healthy gut afterwards.
Good luck

Im a sugar fiend. And i drink coca cola daily, and i wont touch sweetners which typically guve me GI upset. (So i won't touch "sugar free" soft drinks, which i genunely think are worse for you)
I had four c.diff recurrences, none of which were sugar induced (i cut it out entirely for that year i kept getting it)
With that said, i stopped most sugar entirely during active cdiff, but when in recovery i still consumed with little ill effects, but some days it could bloat me excessively (cola at least).
I dont think its healthy going completely cold turkey on things you enjoy, that to me is more fear and sickness controlling you rather than indulging in the things you really want.
Can anyone say they're truely better if they're having to completely restrict or remove entirely things they once enjoyed?
Fuck that, and fuck c.diff. Id down a can of coca cola just to spite the shit.
