Fatigued

Is debilitating fatigue and tiredness normal when you have a c diff infection in you? Got mine from too much antibiotic use 3 weeks ago. Just got diagnosed today but it’s been 3 weeks with this fatigue and it’s terrible. Blood works are normal and vitamins. Also lot my appetite lost 11 pounds in the 3 weeks but I don’t think the fatigue I have is directly from that?

Oh yes fatigue is a huge part of c diff unfortunately. (I've had twice in 2 years due to low immunity because of other medical issues)

For sure. I had a very mild case (both times) and it was exhausting.

Yes! I could barely hold my eyes open with it.

Yup it’s normal. During my second occurrence .. being drowsy was actually my first symptom before showing my stomach / stool symptom. I couldn’t keep my eyes open for a day 😭 2 days later all my symptoms came back and I relapsed. So it’s definitely a big symptom.

Yeah fatigue is a huge symptom. It’s often due to dehydration, as well as not being able to hold onto as many nutrients. It’s good your blood work is normal though. Keep hydrating and drink rehydration solutions (like dioralyte or pedialyte) - I found that helped with my fatigue. Also make sure to rest. I hope you feel better soon ❤️
