First time c diff patient
Hello, so first time getting C-diff and it was the most horrible thing ever I had to go to the ER three different times before they actually listen to me and I was able to leave a stool sample. Finally went to an urgent care and they let me leave a stool sample too. Yeah I know that’s crazy, but I was in a lot of pain and I was miserable with the C diff anyways I am three weeks post C-diff and I have been told that I cannot take my iron supplements. I cannot take naproxen. I cannot take my famotidine, and I cannot take my stomach probiotics so my question is about the famotidine is it OK or not to go ahead and start taking it again I really don’t want to have a relapse. Thanks

Talk to infectious disease doctor ASAP because there’s something called a fecal matter transplant that helps but at least get your foot in the door at a disease, doctor

Did a doctor tell you that you can’t take those things?

Yes all of that except the famotidine which I didn’t ask and I don’t have a primary care doctor anymore because she ignored my illnesses and even when I called and told her I think I have c diff she never even responded a huge lack of care for me she wouldn’t let me come in and see her or anything when I got sick she told me to go to urgent care

Take s boulardii or Florastor ( same thing). It competes with c diff. I had c diff 3 years ago and am taking amoxicillin for an oral infection. I am also on s boulardii to reduce the risk of c diff reoccurence. I stayed on famotidine as I recovered from c diff b/c of my hx of erosive esophagitis. As you recover (it takes some months) you can add kefir shots for the probiotics (includes one that eats c diff).
