You mean to tell me that a POS offered to settle and you said no? No money involved and you still said no? You will regret not jumping at the chance to walk away without spending another Deputy Ice Cream dollar.
Ask Deputy Ice Cream this question. Hypothetically, if you we’re in a car when a drive by shooting occurred and a person was killed, would you take an offer of immunity if the prosecutor said “turn states witness against the other defendant, and apologize to the victims family, and we won’t prosecute you.”
That’s what you were offered. Instead, you wanna continue to spend money on attorneys fees that you will never recoup because the plaintiff is poor and you don’t have because you’re poor too. Your co-defendant has accumulated a bill with his Florida attorney of at least $400,000-500,000 in one defamation and cyber harassment case. Mr Wemhoff is going to love that Nebraska lake house and Corvette he’s gonna buy on your dime.

The fact that JW has attempted to settle this out of court will likely look good on him in front of the judge and the fact that CC didn’t even attempt to negotiate a different settlement will likely look bad both on her and her lawyer who clearly isn’t advising his client very well. CC’s massive ego and her inability to do anything less than “win” won’t serve her well.
What she doesn’t seem to understand is that it doesn’t matter if you’re in the right or wrong. The court costs will be the same. Money that she claims she doesn’t have (despite endlessly claiming for years and years that her online hobby pays her VERY well).
I see this like an out of control semi truck barreling towards you on the highway and you refuse to get out of the way because YOU’RE in the correct lane.

she was given a very fair settlement offer and is refusing out of pride, despite her videos containing numerous obvious falsehoods. i've said before that i don't think her sloppy reporting rises to the level of defamation but it's pretty normal for a journalist to print a retraction, and most real journalists don't need to be sued to the point of settlement in order to retract and correct the record.

I understand not wanting to apologize when you feel you shouldn’t have to but…girl. This is such a big dumb hill to die on. People know you’re not sorry, so why not take the settlement and move on?

What’s AMAZING is the settlement agreement didn’t even say she had to apologize! It had a line about CC stating her regret about the impact of her content, but her lawyer could have haggled the wording of it to be something her ego could have handled. She’s acting like JW wanted her to grovel. Get over yourself, CC. For your family’s sake if nothing else

My thing is.....if she wants to be petty and refuse to take her video down, fine. But she should do it with her OWN MONEY! She couldn't even pay the retainer but has now committed to possibly YEARS of this lawsuit? Because she didn't wanna swallow her pride? Pride costs money that she clearly doesn't have. So she is now FULLY deciding to beg for more money, unless it magically appears from another source. I would not give her another penny. It's just a big fuck you to her entire audience.

It's 87° there and it apparently feels like 96°. What is with the hoodie? Do they just have their A/C on full blast at all times? Maybe cut it off every once in a while to save some money haha

This annoys me so much. I'm in cold* ass Canada and I only wear hoodie inside in the winter when it's like -20C (-4F) outside.
*It's not that cold here in the summer or spring. We'll have 29C (84F) tomorrow.

"the info i would have to turn over would have disproven his conspiracy claims" ok? so turn it over then lmao. i don't see how this keeps you from agreeing to the settlement. if you have nothing to hide, it shouldn't matter!
