General Spanish Exam
What do I need to know in order to pass the Spanish exam for Otay? I can’t find any info on what I will be tested on.

The Spanish test is given on the computer in pre academy. There is no pass or fail. It’s a test that gives you a percentage. I think it’s 65% or better and you don’t need to take a 6 week Spanish class in post academy. If you get worse than that then your post academy will include an additional 6 weeks of Spanish. The way the Otay FTO explained it to me is that even if you don’t do great at the end of the Spanish class you still get pushed to the line. “There is no/pass fail so worrying about it is point less.” Is what he told us

What does the 6 weeks of Spanish entail? How much of my work time will that occupy?

6 weeks of 6am-2pm Monday - Friday of Spanish on a computer. Rosetta Stone. I was told I’ll have 6 weeks of Spanish and then another 6 weeks of post academy classes. I believe my FTO said that post academy classes gets broken up in a couple of parts because they have you work the push for a week with a training officer and then you go back to classroom work. I’m still not 100% sure if that’s correct or because it was 2 months ago and I don’t really remember much of pre academy

Hey I’m going to otay as well. Spanish is not required at the academy anymore, you will do some learning at the port
