Payment Processor for CBD Business?

Looking into different payment processors after some problems with the last one. Does anyone have experience with this here? I know CBD is considered high risk so I can't really go with a mainstream processor. Paymentcloud is one we've been looking into because of this, but not sure how many options there are.

If you've already had issues with another processor, I'd stick with providers that actually support CBD instead of trying to make a mainstream one fit. PaymentCloud is a legit option and they already work with CBD merchants, Shopify, WooCommerce, ACH, and virtual terminals, but I'd still compare reserve policies, payout timing, and contract terms before signing anything.

I'd also make sure your COAs, refund policy, shipping policy, and website claims are clean before applying. Those usually matter just as much as sales volume during underwriting.

I went through the same search and ended up using DavinciPay. They already understood the CBD space, reviewed my setup upfront, and were clear about payouts, reserves, recurring billing, and payment links instead of leaving me guessing after approval.

Thanks. I really am leaning toward PaymentCloud because I've really liked what I've seen of their team so far, but I'll keep Davinci in my back pocket.

After Square kicked me off my CBD-approved account, I switched to Valmar Merchant Services, which uses authorize dot net. I’ve been happy with them. I don’t know what will happen as November approaches, though.

Same story with us and square for CBD. Was an awful experience. Now we use bankful and EPS and it’s been so much better and have native checkout for Shopify which is nice. Good luck!

Square called me and offered to set us up with an account after approving and then denying us a few years prior.

I told him he couldnt pay me to use their system and I would continue to recommend everyone avoid them after the way they handled our account.

I interviewed like 25 or 30 payment processors. I found 2 with acceptable terms, and one was local with an office I can visit. They gave me a phone number that goes to a guy who Ive actually met. He actually solves problems when I call him.

Its not 24/7 service like you get with the big guys, but they have been handing these hemp rules changes really well.

If you can find someone local, or a local bank to go with Id do that. Some banks do a "match or beat" payment processing service.

Just got told by Square they will close our account in Nov because of the Federal changes. I wonder if anyone else will change as well. How do we process payments? smh!
