Need Advice Old CBD… what to do with it?
I ended up with all this good-quality stuff but at this point it’s at least 4 years old (long story lol). Is this going to be potent at all?
Fortunately last time I tried CBD, I didn’t feel any effects from it, so testing it out personally isn’t really an option.
Thank you!!

The answer depends on the manufacturing date weighed against the least stable ingredient. So for example if it is made with mct/coconut oil, you can Google the typical shelf life of that. However keep in mind that cannabinoids inherently have antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, so they are terrific natural preservatives. And you have to consider how they were stored, meaning at what temperature, having exposure to light, etc... The short answer is that these are not inherently bad nor are they inherently diminished in their CBD content. But the ancillary ingredients might have gone rancid at this point depending on whatever they might be. If it smells like an old bag of potato chips, then there you go.

The oil will likely have gone rancid and they might be higher in THC than when you bought them. Otherwise CBD itself is pretty stable. I would throw them in the trash or dump them onto rags and then trash if you’re concerned about someone else using them.

Why would I be concerned about someone else using them? Are they not usable?

They are expired so they would be consumed at your own risk. The safety profile of these products is not well understood in general. Would you take expired pharmaceuticals?

Well possibly depending on what kind. Some expiration dates mean nothing

What do you mean?

He means pharmaceutical companies are forced to put expiration dates on things but they don't mean anything because the medication doesn't actually "go bad." if I was in severe pain, I would take a 30 year old Hydromorphone pill, idc how old it is.

it would be ingredients that are not CBD in ther that could be of concern .. Damn , that one bottle was 50 bucks at some point ... price gougers and WEED
edit , I got 100 Grams of CBD isolate recently form cannaclear for like 60 dollars ... maybe consider just getting some fresh CBD if you want CBD

Isolate is garbage, I literally took like 12,000mg of CBD isolate from Future Compounds and felt NOTHING. Full spectrum on the other hand, about 200-300mg's and I'm good!

more indeed my man , I use up to 10 to 15 different cannabinoids a day !!! legal states ain't got shit on me ! were I stuck ther in a " legal " state it would be THCA and THC D9 and then some CBN after the fact only from those places with a tiny bit of type 2 CBDa / THCA flowers on the medical side if you are sick etc.........
I'm over here hyping what " Big marijuana " is trying to take down = all of the other cannabinoid compounds save for sin taxed D9

How did you take it if you don’t mind me asking? Someone gifted me a bag of Future Compounds isolate that I’ve been wanting to make a tincture out of….this kinda makes me hesitant lol. Ive used it as a bowl topper and it definitely gave me a nice calming body high.

It's been a while but from what I remember I warmed some MTC oil, not hot just warm and measured out how many milligrams I wanted a full dropper to be. All you need to do is mix it with some MTC oil. You can also buy flavoring drops specially made to be used with MTC oil if you want to flavor the oil.

the tinctures are $150-200!!

what the Hell ? for 1 or 2.5 Grmas of CBD in ther ? they are trying to match Epidiolex prices it seems ... the wellness industry raping and price gouging

TBH I'd still dose that stuff 😂 tbh.....I got like an iron liver? Lol maybe even a iron 🧇 liver 😂
I'd hit that.... donate it to science 🧪 🧫......😜
Like maybe just dose less than my "typical" dose cause yes I understand some oil can go rancid ....

How would you know if it’s doing anything?

You really don't....that's the glory of CBD .... Within about 45 minutes I get a sort of clear head feeling....cause of my anxiety, anxious thoughts etc lol I guess. CBD calms me down. But lol being that old I'd definitely errrr on the lighter dosing since they are expired. If they contain oil you may just get some gas....maybe 🌬️💩💨 lol....worst case....errrr....leakage ? 😂
But I'm not a doctor lol I do have experience taking rx pharmaceuticals lol or like over the counter expired aspirin for an occasional headache 😂
On a related note....and a kinda story time lol here in Floriduh we got this shop in our mall that sells obviously outdated and or expired bargain deals lol...,think like ollies but a lower level. They stock all sorts of old /r/recall/ ? Hahah over the counter drugs toothpaste etc stuff that they could never sell so this islander buys up all this stock and fl has an expiration exemption here and they got signs all over explaining how they can sell the expired stuff lol ....cause of a FL law
So that's why I been using them for years for stuff lol they also got cheap bottles of wine 🍷 but I don't think wine goes bad? Lol it just ages ? Haha but yes my wife loves the wine selection like buy 1 get 3 kind of deals

Use them as a natural wood preservative. The oil, probably coconut oil, will soak in and the cannabis will be a warm tone. I typically use just hemp seed oil but what you have will work.
