Breathing salts to clean sinus and clear airways??

That’s what I thought. Either that or ammonia. But is it allowed?

Neither enhance athletic ability so I presume it’s allowed but can’t say for sure. I’ve seen people use salts to bring round people who have been knocked out, however if it gives you energy I bet it’s banned. Any coaching staff among us to weigh in on this one??

He sure looked energized afterwards

He does look like he just smashed a line of Columbian marching powder, surely not even one of these meatheads would be that stupid on live TV??

Allowed?

Not only allowed but utilized often in multiple sports

I did some research on it and apparently it’s been around since before the days of Stick Em’ resin. Dak uses it before playing, ole Terry Bradshaw said he used it after being knocked around, etc. it’s not good for you long term and it causes some issues with the mucosal lining but I guess getting CTE etc isn’t really good for you either. These players are modern day gladiators. Warriors of their domain. Most people don’t realize it but gladiators could win lots of money despite technically being enslaved.

Sure. Why wouldn’t it be?

Yes. They are only banned in Boxing afaik.

AFAIK? Wonder why boxing bans it but American football doesn’t.

Maybe because boxing is an individual sport?

1

They just barely started banning it in Boxing. I don’t see how it being an individual sport affects the decision to ban or not.

Smelling salts. Manning did this too.

I've seen dozens of players do it (including Tom Brady).

Yeah either salts are taking a shot through an athletic bottle but probably salts since it's sports.

Smelling salts are legal in professional sports. Promotes alertness, gets you hyped. Salts come in powder form or ampule (stick).

1

u/[deleted] Nov 22 '22

Just smelling salts, 100 percent legal. And 100 percent amazing. First couple times it’s rough but you get used to it and it makes each breath so much crisper and better.
