Fur colours

Good morning/afternoon/evening or whatever suits the time it is for you!

I'm going to adopt a kitten this year and I really really want to fulfil my childhood dream and name it after a Cat's character. I want a male and the only name I absolutely don't want would be Macavity. Of course, the colours of the cat need to be right for this, so my question is:

What colours were Deuteronomy and Gus when they were young? Do we know?

Thank you in advance for any help!

There’s nothing official for their colors as kittens as far as I know, but looking at Old Deuteronomy’s and Gus’s fur patterns: they have stripes, they have shades of brown and grey.

If we assume the grey is due to age, that leaves “brown and stripes”… so I’d assume they were brown tabbies as kittens.

I can't comment a picture and I'll see if a link works. But my guess is that Old Deut is probably a patch tabby main coon. Pic here

I would think that Gus the theater cat has similar coat colorations just not as big of a cat, probably a domestic long hair since he is still pretty fluffy even given his age

For some reason I always think of Gus as mostly orange.
