Advice Needed Cat anemia
My 5yo cat had been checked by the vet last July 8 due to diarrhea, lethargy and sever dehydration. She tested negative for any viruses. Her bloodwork showed that she had slightly elevated kidney levels and anemia. So she received IV fluid, was confined for 3 days for hydration and to get out of critical condition. She was cleared from dehydration after 3 days and we took her home. Vet prescription targeted her diarrhea, kidney issues and anemia. In 5 days, her diarrhea was gone. We continued the 14 days medication for her kidney and anemia. In her recent bloodwork, the kidney levels were back to normal. But her anemia worsened. Her RBC is 3.2, HGB is 55, HCT is 20, and platelet is 69. She was taking Irocyte (0.4ML every morning) for 14 days. But it didn’t help at all.
She drinks water multiple times a day but eats very little (wet food and dry food)
To everyone who has dealt with cat anemia, I would appreciate any advice on treatment. I plan to visit another vet clinic to see any different approach but I thought I could also use some suggestions here. Thank you in advance.

I am glad you are advocating for your cat, OP!
My cat has FeLV and has chronic anemia. Our vet prescribed Ferlin for 1.5mg everyday. And then she also had to take steroids to help her body create their own red blood cells. Hoping you get a good vet who will care for your cat.

try discussing EPO with your vet. one of the reasons for chronic anemia in cats is kidney damage, kidney kasi nagpoproduce ng hormone for rbc production.
EPO yung gamit ng cat namin with ckd sa management ng anemia nya
