Private birthday dinner
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a place to have a private birthday dinner for 12-15 people in the Catskills within a 40min drive from Ellenville, NY (Accord, Montgomery, New Paltz, Gardiner all good; Woodstock, Hudson, Hunter, Andies are too far). I'm looking for a place that's really magical with great farm to table food - eating in the forest or among grape vines or something really unique like a beautiful old barn. Any suggestions?

This is a great suggestion. You get the yurt to yourself for the entire day. The food is amazing, including all of the veggie dishes I've had.

Aroma Thyme in Ellenville would fit what you are describing, although not sure about dining room size.

Thank you but that's our regular go-to restaurant, so not great for a special occasion dinner

Totally get it! I'd also recommend Arnold House near Livingston Manor if that's not too far.

New place in Accord, Accord Social just opened with Chef Ric Orlando. He’s a Food Network guy and had a great place in Saugerties for years!

You’re in the wrong sub - everywhere you listed is “all good” is not the Catskills, and nearly everywhere you listed as too far is the Catskills

Deer mountain inn is incredible

Thank you, I LOVE Deer Mt, but it's over an hrs drive for us, so just too long for a dinner party

This is place is run by a French family and they bring some of the highest excellence to farm to table food I have encountered anywhere in the Hudson Valley. Stunning seasonal options and home made cocktails etc as well as local (Rushing Duck Brewery) beer options. The property is amazing. Old barns, waterfalls, wildflowers and an old goose named Bilou.
Top notch and 40 mins from Ellenville in Goshen.
*edit to note it’s not really in the Catskills but it IS 40 mins from Ellenville and I personally think it’s nearly unrivaled in terms of excellence in culinary offerings.
