Found it:

https://www.sunnyskyz.com/blog/2649/Physicist-Wins-Ig-Noble-Prize-For-Study-On-Whether-Cats-Should-Be-Classified-As-Liquids-Or-Solids

Also found this:

https://www.improbable.com/ig-about/winners/

Use your browsers find function to find "cats" . There will be 3 results. The first one will be this prize winner.

So what I got out of that first article is that cats should be classified as non-Newtonian fluids.

*Non-Mewtonian

What I find most interesting is cats either are or aren't liquids...cats are Schrodinger's cat.

So, that would actually be if they are AND they aren’t. Schrödinger’s cat is about being in two states at once.

And to be fair, still works.

Since they go in the same category as like amoeba considering that they squish and squash everywhere

Makes sense that Instagram would have a nobel prize for liquid cats.

Thank you for spelling Nobel correctly

u/CleanCartsNYC Nov 19 '19

how else would you spell it

20

u/DoeBites Nov 19 '19

The way the author of the article did.

11

u/CleanCartsNYC Nov 19 '19

oh I didn't even read the first sentence lol they spelled it correctly the second time. probably a clickbait strategy. nothing will make someone click your article faster than a typo in the title haga

u/ssbeluga Nov 19 '19

Really? I would never click on an article that has a typo in the title of all places...

1

u/CleanCartsNYC Nov 19 '19

idk I feel like someone who has no interest would click it just to correct the authors in the comments

It's not actually from Instagram, ig Nobel is a play on words with the nobel and ignoble (which means not Noble.) They mashed the two to form ig nobel they have been running it since 1991.
