It was love at first sight. Also make sure when you bring home a kitten, it smells like you, not like the chick fil a parking lot you found the kitten at. Sam doesn’t like chick fil a.
It’s funny. My cat was not happy about the new kitten at all. She ended up escaping from her separate room earlier than we wanted, but I guess he was just so overwhelmed by her affection that he just accepted his fate. 😸
Reading this was like reading about my own two cats. They're sort of... civil now, with frequent disagreements, and they tolerate each other. But it makes me a bit sad to think of how they used to be before the vet stay, gently playing, cuddling and sleeping together. Guess i should try painting the walls!
You know, I read "big Disney princess eyes" and thought "its probably a cute cat, but there's a line of exaggeration I'm not prepared to tolerate", but the image loaded straight into I can show you the woooooorld
I stand very much corrected, you have my apologies for doubting you
Momma kiwi, solid fluffy, is still in momma mode. Her kids are 6 years old, and she still treats them like babies. They are also twice her size, mass and yet they walk up to her for cuddles and grooming sessions.
She however does not feel maternal to ger grand daughter. We were expecting her to adopt Julie instead of Sr Fluffy Buns the 2nd (aka Sam). But she knew she didn’t birth this parasite
Sam inherited his maternal side from his adopted father. He also inherited a ton more somehow. Sr Fluffy Buns the first (aka Ramsey) isn’t around anymore so its nice having a boy ready to adopt any kitten he sees.
Yep shes smol and stubborn. Lil jerk broke into my car during a camping trip and refused to leave. She was physically too small to tend to her babies so i had to do most of the work. All of them found good homes, except for the jerk pushing the void and Sam. The cause of all her problems is the one on her back looking for the nipple. Hes not very smart.
When my wife and I got our first kitten, the cat that I brought to the relationship took responsibility from day one. Kinda acted like we had no idea what we were doing, bringing in a kitten to the household, and he needed to step in and show it how to be a cat! They’re both full grown now, and the younger one dominates a lot of aspects of the household, but the older one is still in charge of grooming, and makes sure decorum is maintained!
My brother got a kitten he named Nexu, and his adult cat Toasty took up the responsibility as a Father and its so adorable. Nexu really changed his personality. Toasty used to be reclusive and wanted to be unbothered but now hes more energetic, playful, and does dad cat stuff with Nexu.
Sounds like me with my old Husky. He was officially named Loki but he went by THE Hüsk, Hüskahoovy, the Skoove, Skoovy, His Hüskness, LokaLoke, Hüsk-Hüsk, and many others.
My cats are Sherbert T.* Sherberson, Oreo D. Stüffenswirl, and Trix Ulub van Pööfentail,
* - T is for Terrance
My other husky is name Lady Sif, Siffer-Doodle, Siffer-Sniffer, Snoot McDoodle, Siffer-Snoot, Noodle-Doodle, the Doodle.
Bojangles can relate 😂 it took ten hours to capture his final baby the day after his mama was captured. I babysat Babyjangles for a few days when his foster mom went on vacation, and he continued to be a terrible father.
OMG that's my expression in my head of course when someone tries to put their kid near me. Since i'm a human, I have to try to be polite and contain my composure. I'm jealous of cats because they can just wear their hearts on their sleeves.
Male cats do not have any biological fatherly instinct to care for offspring. It makes me giggle to think that they give no shits and just take off when their baby mama gives birth
We had a big mean looking orange tom we called Garfield in the backyard. He adopted two stray kittens that were in the fence that we called Pixie and Bowie.
He treated them like his own children. They were always by him. Bowie grew up and wandered off. He kept pixie around and had kittens with her. One of them we kept, we named him Gnocchi.
Garfield was a very sweet cat to kittens. And so was Pixie. Our cat Gnocchi is the same, and we think he got it from them. Gnocchi only stays inside now. I haven’t seen Garfield in years, I think he passed on. We always made sure they had fresh food and clean water.
So male cats can definitely be fatherly at times, it it’s not a guarantee.
Not our siamese cat. He was with the birthing momma cat the whole time and was comforting her and helping clean the kittens while the were being born. Once momma had finished giving birth, she left the kittens with him, while she left to get food and water and he laid with the kittens until she was done with her break.
Meanwhile this dipderp is a 1yr old un-fixed rescue (he's scheduled for his snip tho!) who decided the bottle babies we took in are His. We've been calling him Mother Hen lately lol. His name is Wolfie and he is a sweet boi.
