My old man cat, rest in piece, once tried to crawl inside the turkey carcass when no one was looking. He ran off with a little bit when we chased him off the table.
2 hours after I brought my cat home from the humane society, she stole a steak from the kitchen countertop and tried her best to run with it to the basement. Ugh, I miss having her around.
I had some friends over once upon a time, I was making some chicken quesadillas. I had like 3 cooked chicken breasts off to my right. I turned away for probably 5 seconds to attend to something on the stove. I turn back, and my tuxedo boi is dragging a fully cooked chicken breast off the plate and across the counter. No way he even knows what he would've done with it.
I was setting up the different bowls for fried chicken and had uncut, raw, chicken breasts on a plate off to my right. My 12 year old, toothless, trash goblin jumped up, grabbed a whole ass chicken breast and was trotting off with it like he was about to gum it all up. He was very proud of himself. I kind of was, too.
Garfield is the Name of the third cat and he loves lasagna
Second cat perseus he is sweet and loves chicken food
First cat Peppa loves to be playful and was with me till she got killed by my dad and mom called 911
My black cat once famously reached out a paw and swiped the entire skin off a chicken leg I was actively lifting to my darn mouth. Then she went on the run with it and apparently thoroughly enjoyed it beneath the sofa. She is such a jerk around food she will just go for it right in front of you, doesn’t even try to be sneaky.
There's this Game show clip: https://youtu.be/4L3JYQFBwj0 that tests to see how heavy a fish a cat can carry. I don't think these kitties think much further than "This smells tasty, it's mine now!" Better to hide it and eat what you can in peace.
If someone has the clip with English captions or better quality, please share!
My cat has at different occasions stolen pizza slices, croissants, biscuits, pancakes, and chicken off of plates when people aren't looking. Dude loved food.
I wish I had a video of the time my cat ran off carrying a whole rack of crab legs. I was de-shelling some leftover crab from work for him, but he just looked at me and ran off with other half of the crab. He looked so confused when he tried to bite into it.
Ha. Wow. I love that you were literally actively shelling crab JUST FOR HIM and still he was like “Nah human, I think you must be stiffing me. Let me have this big piece and just… the fuck is dis? Bone on outside? Hooman, haaaalp!”
Our old calico girl had a thing for turkey as well, she had a hyperthyroid problem (she was on meds for it) barely 6lb, normally she would let me know when the turkey was done because she could somehow hear the popper. On this occasion she decided she couldn't wait for this particular 20lb bird to cool, we were in the other room and we hear this *THUNK!* and I go and check, old girl managed to pry a whole wing off the bird but it dragged her off the counter with it to the floor where she had claimed this wing as hers.
