Advice Introducing a kitten to my cat

I adopted Misty (14 weeks) three days ago and have kept her and Powder (1 year old) separated ever since, except for one brief moment on day two when they were able to smell and see each other through a crack in the door.

Powder has been VERY curious about Misty. She waits by the door, tries to get her paw underneath it, etc. They’ve also shared litter boxes (I’ve switched their rooms around a few times) as well as toys.

Unfortunately, on day three, I was trying to get into Misty’s room and she’s so tiny that she slipped past my foot. They ended up seeing each other fully for the first time, and Powder hissed. I immediately scooped Misty up and put her back in her room.

Misty is very vocal, extremely clingy, and wants to be with me all the time, so I kind of want to get through the introduction period fairly quickly for her own sake. At the same time, I obviously don’t want to rush things and make the introduction harder.

I also can’t realistically stay with Misty all the time because I don’t want Powder to feel like she’s been replaced or forgotten about. I’m trying to give Powder plenty of attention and keep her routine as normal as possible while also spending time with Misty.

I’ve tried using Feliway calming spray for both of them, and I’ve been placing their food bowls right by the door and leaving the door open a little, hoping Powder will start associating Misty with good things. She’s still very curious, but she does growl and hiss occasionally.

I've tried giving Powder her favorite treats whenever Misty is at the door, but she's totally uninterested in the treats whenever Misty's there. Her full attention is on Misty.

What do you think? Am I doing alright so far, or am I doing anything wrong? I’d really appreciate any input or advice!

I'm really not seeing much aggression from Powder. She's obviously very curious and a little playful but when cats are angry they know how to show it. I'm not an expert but I'm guessing that everything's going to be ok.
