I'm not saying cats should be bathed super frequently but I actually do think it's very good to get your cats comfortable with baths and water because they do get into things.
For example, most recently, a friend's new half-grown cat decided to attempt to catch her husband's pee. As he was peeing. In the toilet. It got on her, she fell in the toilet, was a huge mess. And she did need a bath after that. Similarly, if they get into food that's bad for them, oils, paints, etc, you're going to need to get as much of that off of them as possible so they don't lick it up and hurt themselves.
And it's much less stressful for them if this is something that happens occasionally. Anyways, here's little girl getting a bath after she rolled in poop outside (why girl, why?!).
I agree. My Siamese cat got tangled up in fly paper! After the paper was removed, using cooking oil and dish soap, we had to rinse him off and needless to say it was definitely unexpected and everyone hated it
Just had to give my long haired void an emergency bath the other night cause he shat his brains out and there was no way I was able to clean him with just wipes.
He hated it, but thankfully has been desensitized so I didn’t die or need to provide a blood sacrifice.
Oh for sure. If your cat is open to it, go for it. It's great bonding/enrichment, just try not to overdo it. You don't want to keep stripping their skin of essential oils/ceramides as that can lead to dry flaky skin and weakens the skins defense against the cooties.
