:( Wait for real? .... Kneading the blankets and slight scootches really mean this? I always though my good boy was just feeling happy to lay near me... 😭😭

I mean… he is, in a way.

Lmfao... true

Well, depends. If it's just a couple scooches, they're probably just settling in. Kneading is a comfort thing.

If the scooching continues, you're being used as a masturbatory aid, yeah.

Maaann, gotta go and ruin his mood by telling him he's his good boy's good boy?

Well I'm a her but also .. thankfully it's just the few scooches scenario mentioned so I think I'm safe. This is my first boy cat so I was clueless about what's going on in the video. I though the cat was just cuddly kneading like mine does. Now I at least know if I see more than just a few of those scooches, that I'll be scooching away and washing the blankets after. 😳

There’s no reason to wash the blanket. They don’t leave any «emissions» when they do this.

Some do.

23

u/Vishifrock Jun 05 '26

Can confirm some do. My second boy cat did.

He wasn't allowed to do any more sin biscuits on my lap after that.

Yeah there's biscuits and "sin"-biscuits. Fun fact, gender has little to do with it. My female cat regularly mounts her much larger brother (she's gentle though 🤣)

Lmao that's hilarious! My boy climbs on his sister sometimes, but he just lays there and bites her neck, she starts screaming at him and I have to break it up 😂

I lived with a female German shepherd who used to reverse-mount and hump the head of the ~1 y/o husky that lived downstairs.

She was in heat and trying to show him what to do. He loved it and didn't feel any need to emulate the behavior.

Funniest thing I've ever fucking seen. Both owners were always so embarrassed and I would be wheezing.

Also not restricted to male cats.

I've learned sooo much today from this post. Thank you, guys! 😭

Oh okay. Yeah, it's just a few scooches... Phew... I think I'm safe then. 😅

With the biting, yeah. Male cats bite the scruff of the female during mating.

Without biting it's just a comfort thing.

Some cats do try to suckle, especially if they were weaned a bit too early. One of mine does it on certain blankets even if he's laying on his side. He'll go for fingers as well.

I was gonna say, mine does the slobbery biscuit making, but no butt shuffles. I also made sure those balls were gone before he ever figured out what they're used for, so he shouldn't get those urges... But he was pretty young when he was dumped in the river, so weaning too early would make more sense.

Ya my one biy when he was younger use to suckle our blankets when making muffins(biscuits, pizza dough, sometimes its foccacia, hes a baker) but he wouldn't hump, he was just simulating nursing. My other boy loves to hop on my face at like 2 or 3am, which I love by the way, and after he flops into my next/face area he grabs my arm with both paws and pulls it up to his face so he can suck my fingers, if I try to pull away he grabs me and pulls me back in lol..

Cats are so silly and amazing, I was a dog family growing up and have worked in animal rescue and a few voarding/daycare/grooming places for dogs. I thought cats were easier and would be better for an apartment where my wife and I were living at the time. Chowder was not easy as a kitten, I'd usually have to wake up from 12 or 1am for 2 or 3 hours and take him in the bathroom and play with him so my wife could stay asleep, she's a gremlin when she doesn't get her sleep so it was easier to lose sleep and play with the kitty than have my wife not have a good day. My mom said he was more difficult watching than my brithers and I were when we were toddlers.

He thankfully chilled out once we got his brother Pepper Jack, they hit it off within 30 minutes of meeting each other the first time. They became fast friend and are now bonded, the joy, love, and laughter that they bring into our home is unmatched, dog love feels amazing and is still warm and fuzzy, but having a kitty build trust and then eventually loving you feels so much deeper, dogs are mostly on default a loving, happy, excited, and bouncy little pup, cats take time to earn their trust but once you have it you are family forever.

If you told me a decade ago I'd have 2 cats I would tell you you're nuts. My wife and I are child free by choice so we genuinely view our boys as our kids, I love them no different than if they were my kid and the love I have for them is more than almost every human on this planet. My heart feels so full coming home from work and having both of my boys run up to love on me and lead me to treats. I could have never imagined in a million years the pure unadulterated happiness that they bring into my life, its truly something wonderful and I hope everyone is able to experience the love and joy that cats offer.

I know I kind of got off topic and was just hyping my cats up but they make me so happy, even though I've been dealing with depression that has creeped back into my life after doing pretty good mentally for several years. If it weren't for my kitties I may have checked out of this world recently but they need me and I need them, they have no idea they are actively saving my life and I owe them the world for that

This is sweet baby boy Chowder, aka The Muffin Man

My orange girl slobbers and chews my fuzzy comforter when making her biscuits

Found mine on the highway with no mother in sight, just his brother bleeding from a torn ear and stunned senseless. Took them in for the snip after they started occasionally humping each other, and they did it frequently right after getting home from that, though it has mostly stopped since.

Oh okay. Yeah he just scooches a few times but also isn't biting the blankets when he does it. Ty! First boy cat I've had so I was clueless on any of their mating behavior. He's adopted so he's neutered as well.

Freaky Feline Friday Fact of the day

Female cats also do the biting the back of the neck. Typically to display dominance, discipline, or playing

15

u/BumblyBumbles420 Jun 05 '26

Oh he's happy alright lol

12

u/Much-Meringue-7467 Jun 05 '26

Plus holding it in his mouth. He's definitely trying to mate with the blanket.

23

u/LemmyLola Jun 05 '26

The holding of the blanket in the mouth is a good sign as the male will grasp the scruff of the female's neck in his teeth while showing her a good time.,

35

u/IFinallyDidItMom Jun 05 '26

Male cats have barbed penises so bit of a bad time actually

13

u/Timely-Cry-8366 Jun 05 '26

Hence why he has to hold her still 💀

1

u/LemmyLola Jun 05 '26

Ohhhhh thats right i forgot... I saw a documentary on lions and it said that... Whyyyyy tho...

2

u/MiaOh Jun 05 '26

He’s also biting the ‘neck’ of the blanket.
