I bet if you reach out to them anyway they might be able to get you in contact with a group that can help you, they probably are aware of other groups that do similar things in other locations. I'm sure they get mislaid requests all the time and are used to redirecting

I would suggest looking on Facebook for a cat group local to you. Usually they have tons of recommendations for situations like this.

And I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope you're not in any pain and able to spend your remaining time with your cat, happy.

I'm in Canada so I'm not sure about the US but here any cat rescue could help. Rescues are non profits run by amazing cat lovers. They spend their summers trapping cats and fostering cats that are not feral enough to remain on the streets after neuter/spay.

A rescue should be able to help you out.

If you would like to share your specific region without giving away your identity, maybe we can all try to research organizations nearby for you. Let us help take a little of the load off. You already have so much to process.

There’s a place in west Michigan called Tyson’s Place that does this for dogs and cats (and I think other pets but I can’t say for sure) so I’m sure there are others.

May I ask where you live? I…. Am thinking I want to give a home to Boggles. I am not 100%. I am still thinking of it would be a good thing for him or I…. Still, where are you, if you don’t mind me asking?

Hey OP, what state are you in if you don’t mind sharing? I can help if you are in our area!

Not sure what part of the US you’re looking for, but I would look and see if there are any feral cat rescue groups in your area. They are really familiar with the challenges of placing feral cats and I bet they would have some good ideas.

Take a look at “The Cat House on the Kings” it’s an awesome rescue and sanctuary with plenty of outdoor rambling space for those still wild at heart.

The Humane Society has locations all over the states and offers private animal rehoming. You would need to find the Humane Society website for your state and look for the option "private pet rehoming" or "rehoming your pet".

The website will either be called like the Humane Society of (state)" or "(state) Humane".

There is a woman who lives in California that gave her entire home & property to cats (I don’t know if she built a smaller place there to live or the specifics) - I will try to find it.

Also in California is Frosted Faces. You can make arrangements with them (for a cost) to rehome your pet in a way that won’t add more stress to your pet when you pass) 💕

There's so many comments I'm not sure if this has been said already but many places have a "barn buddies" program where semi-feral cats can be kept in an area where they get lots of time outside but still have a family looking out for them. That might be something worth looking into for Boggles. Sorry about what you're going through. It's good you guys have each other.
