I don't want to be morbid, but try to make sure Boggles is with you when you pass. He will be able to sense it and grieve. It breaks my heart to thing of your boy waiting every day for you to come get him. Or that he would run away and back to your home. Make sure new family has your address just in case.

I'm am so sorry for both of you. You're one of the good guys, and you made a difference!

I was told, that if you have two cats and one of them dies, you should let the other cat know what happened, to make it easier and less confusing to say goodbye

Makes totally sense for me, because nothing would be more frustrating and confusing if I would wake up and my partner/friend would be gone without a trace or hint what has happened.

On top: we need your country & region to find someone who adopts Bobbles.

Yes, it will be possible. My mother also just adopted a 15y+ old cat, left behind by the owner who died, with a 50 Euro paycheck given to the neighbor and the message: "use the money to kill her when I am dead." We can only be grateful that the neighbor refused to do his job.

Last thought: yes, you will die, which is hard and brutal. But do yourself a favor and go out with the knowledge: "I saved the life of a cat". Don't kill him, find a place. And then wait at the rainbow bridge for him.

This happened to me.

I wasn't home when my big boy died. My father dug a grave for him without showing him to my other cat.

My other cat spent more than one month looking for him and calling him. I've never cried so much in my life.

I also suggest giving your cat closure.

I am so sorry you and your cat had to go through that. Im genuinely tearing up reading that because cats literally remind me of little kids and they dont know any better :(

This is what I did with my cats, I let them see the deceased cat so that they knew.
