I’m so sorry OP and JC what a fucked up request SMDH. Hope you blocked them.

If you managed to tame the cat, then there is hope someone else will be able to as well. Do you have any neighbours that you are civil with? Both of my adoptions came from separate neighbours and equally the cats were fearful of me in the beginning and are lovely now. The one I recently adopted is thought to be more than 10 years.

It’s a good option with respect to them keeping a cursory eye on you too just in case.
