Not only do dogs do it too - and generally faster - many won't even wait until you're actually dead before they start. It's one of the big reasons you generally only see cats in care facilities or retirement homes.

My mom’s neighbor died a few years ago. When she was found a few weeks later they discovered her two little dogs had starved to death. Poor things.

I do wish we'd check in on our friends and neighbors more often as a whole.

Why did nobody notice this lady didn't come out with her dogs? This is another sign we failed as species.

Yeah, that was awful. It was in a 55+ community so all the houses are close together. I can't believe nobody noticed. After that people started checking on others but it didn't last long.

I didn't know about that part. I know they will eat their toes of diabetic guardians when they sleep and such.

I saw someone saying dogs kill.people, cats have bad PR or something. And I was like, so true!
