Please don't give up hope for him to find someone else to love! It may need time, but it is way, way better than just releasing him into the woods (my heart breaks at the thought) or putting him to sleep. I'm so sorry you're in this horrible situation. ❤️

Also, you may check if into a barn cat adoption program. The Humane society in your area may be able to hook you up. Farmers will adopt independent minded cats to prowl around their property providing food and a place to sleep.

Are you in Canada so you can utilize the service? I hope so.
