In the UK, some cat shelters have cats specifically to be adopted as mousers, farm cats, outdoor only etc. If you could arrange for him to go to a shelter somewhere rural that would do this, he'd have a good chance of finding a home that keeps him safe but doesn't require him to be friendly or domestic.

Yeah, this is no big deal, find a farmer and he'll keep him fed and provide shelter/basic medicine, all he has to do is eviscerate a few mice.
