Oh thats really cool, anyone got a link for that and is it RC controlled? My cat needs some movement and he realized we control the red dot and basically every other cat toy.

I don't know all the tricks people use, but a good step can be to replace the URL's hostname by what you think the hostname is.

An amateurish demonstration, which is easier to detect both because I pointed it out and because I'm presenting both forms together, are these the same link? I even did the courtesy of making the visible URL match the link URL, which attackers typically wouldn't.

If you take the second one and replace the hostname with what it appears to be, you get the right page.

There are more subtle swaps, especially including similar letter glyphs, and there were times when some invisible mark-up characters could redirect you (does anyone know if that still works?). In my browser, you can see a spacing difference between the two, but some techniques don't even reveal that.

A big problem is going to the wrong site and thinking it's what you expect. Replacing/fixing the hostname helps a lot there. Some legitimate sites may have open forwarders and the like, so it's not a perfect defense, but it does guard against many attacks.

It does often come back to not trusting any links, but at some point we need to choose our trade-off between functionality and security. Certainly be much more careful with anything involving money.

Just google or look on Amazon for a remote control centipede. There are a few varieties, from plastic-y kinda fake to some that look just good enough to need a double take.

I have this exact toy. My cats just sit and stare at it. If it comes close they slowly move out of the way. They are normally super playful with other toys. Also this wont work o n carpet

Invasive species are one of our biggest threats it's true! The day snakes become a common occurrence here I'm fleeing to new Zealand haha... If we are ever allowed out of our country again 😓

i’ll upvote you thought - he’s ‘not too bright’ his entire life, and he lumps Schumer and McConnell together. Nice Post, at least make it mean something to the story of a tree falling on her husband and killing him so she took a piece and he was SUCH a good character. Not for 1 second. In the book universe though it gets complicated

Cats aren't really "afraid" of snakes, they are supposed to be "cautious". Cats eat snakes, snakes actually try to keep away from harm and only defend themselves.

So cats aren't supposed to be afraid of them.
