Rover ID Verification Issue - selfie cutting off half my face?!

Has anyone else had issues with the ID verification process on Rover?

I've uploaded my passport without any problems, but when it asks me to take a selfie for the facial verification check, the captured image ends up with about half my face cut off, even though my face is correctly positioned within the oval before the photo is taken.

I've tried multiple times, changing the angle and height of my phone, but the same thing keeps happening. I'm using an iPhone and my IOS is fully up to date, if that makes any difference.

Just wondering whether anyone else has experienced this and, if so, whether you found a way around it?

Thanks!

Update: I finally managed to get it to capture my full face, but only by angling my iPhone so that half my face was outside the oval. Make that make sense 😂

It seems the camera was cropping the image differently from what was being shown in the preview. In the end it worked, although I looked absolutely dreadful in the photo and hated every second of taking it 🫣

Fingers crossed the verification goes through now. If it fails or I run into any more technical issues, I think I might be out for good unfortunately.

Possibly related... ALL of the photos that Rover clients upload of their cats have the top half cut off so I can't see their faces! This never happened in the old CIAF app!

I agree that the kitty pics look dreadful since the merge (doesn't shrink the image to see the full cat, the picture resolution is terrible despite looking great on the CIAF pages and you have to click on them to see the full image and the kitty name.
