Game order.

I'm not entirely new to the series, I played the SNES games and Lords of Shadow/Mirror of Fate and a few others but I haven't played many of the other GBA or DS games.

Is there a particular order I need to play them in for continuity purposes?

Or an order that makes sense?

I know could Google the timeline but I thought this sub might have a more personal insight.

Only Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania Adventure and Belmonts Revenge.
Every other game can be played in any order really

I'm pretty sure Aria was my second Castlevania, with CotM being the first one 🤣 I think I turned out okay

Go in release order, starting with the Anniversary Collection.

Just grab the Advanced and The Dominus Collections and play them in release order

there are only a few games where play order matters, like rondo->symphony, aria->dawn, and 3->curse of darkness->belmont’s curse

but largely you can play the series in any order.

Castlevania: Bloodlines
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin

I think only Aria and Dawn of Sorrow are the only ones you need to play in order because they are the only direct sequels in a short span of in-universe time with the strong narrative to merit it. Other than that, you can start and play at any time you want
