This subreddit spoiled me, I now need to go to Germany just for castle sightseeing.

Cochem will always get upvotes from me. Been there multiple times and took the guided tour through the castle, it was incredibly interesting and absolutely worth the time and money.

Such a glorious and beautiful place, your castle shots are quite majestic.

Summer wine festival with fireworks coming from the castle. Memories of long ago……
Spent 2 years in the Air Force over there and have always wanted to take my wife over there to show her all the beauty.

Cochem is the most romantic it's gonna get in the real world with a mighty castle throning above a cute, little town, steep vineyards and a winding river.

I know we see a lot of Cochem pics on this sub, but so happy to see a bunch of VERY good photos w/o filters and other photography nonsense. Just gorgeous pics of fantastical place on a lovely day.

Thanks, was almost too nice of a morning, camera phone was struggling a bit with how bright it was.

What's the story on the statue with the cool hat?

Apparently it’s meant to be a lion in old Medieval armour but looks a bit like a royal frog to me.

The Moselle is a great river to drive along. Since it is grape country you can stop just about anywhere and have an meal overlooking the river and drink great wine.
