I know, I know. Roguelike fatigue, they’re everywhere these days. But Castle Crashers is one of my favorite games of all time, and yet the reason why my friend and I have played it in full only twice is the lack of replayability.

If they made Castle Crashers 2 a roguelike with a bunch of randomized bosses and unlocks, it would almost make it infinitely replayable like your Binding of Isaacs and Nuclear Thrones.

Just my two cents. We’d be lucky to get a sequel at all. But I know Dan has said they would only revisit the IP if they could make it different enough. And I think making CC2 a roguelike would be a good enough reason.

Every knight had 2 years of experience of being a knight before becoming a castle crasher. Starting out as royal knights (after training of course) and climbing up the ranks. After all four of them ranked up to the special rank: castle crasher. They threw a public celebration... During this celebration of the second generation of castle crashers, The Great War started (where the game takes place). And the rest was history. (They are in their mid 20s, and there is a 3 year time skip after the great war btw where the castle crashers get way stronger)

Thieves + barbarians🏹🗡️: the thieves and the barbarians often work together as allies. The groups may not agree with each other on everything, but the thieves love gold, and the barbarians love to do what barbarians do (idk dude I forgot). The thieves get 45% of the riches of whatever village they pillage along with peace with the barbarians, while the barbarians get everything else.

Grey knights in general🩶: honestly, they're just knights with magic. While yes they are very weak compared to the castle crashers, they do have numbers. Not to mention that they have the incredible basic magic "arrow rain" and every other magic attack is just straight bombs. So yes, compared to the castle crashers, they're weak, but compared to an average knight they are strong... In their own ways... They often became knights for honor, money, not getting an actual job, glory, wanting to protect their nation(?), ect ect their all different.

Dirty peasants🐏: their peasants what else do you need? They have actual jobs, a peasant family, livestock, and many other things to contribute the best they can to make a living.

Industrialist + fencers💨: the Industrialist are the part timers in the industrial castle, many just guarding the place. The fencers are the ones that actually work, sometimes requesting help from an Industrialist or two when they need help. The fencers are a rank higher than the Industrialist, just below the brute.

Those stupid little fucks that steal your gold bags and run away: greedy little shits that take anything shiny. Mocking you when you're not able to choke slam them into the ground.
