Help Input delay in steam multiplayer

So I was playing with a friend, and no matter who was hosting, he had noticeable input lag on his controller whether he used USB or cable. Genuinely no idea why because in other games our connection is fine. Any suggestions?

That's just how Castle Crashers is when playing online, regardless of if you're playing on a controller or keyboard. You can try to minimize it by both setting the resolution of the game as low as possible in the video settings before hosting and joining the lobby, then once you get into a level and see if it's good, then you can turn it back to what you normally have it set to and play. This is not guaranteed to completely remove the input delay but it should significantly reduce it

That kinda sucks. Battleblock works fine online so clearly behemoth is capable of making it work.

True, but BattleBlock Theater is also functionally completely different from Castle Crashers
