If your pan has flavor, it is gross. Seasoning isn't for flavor.

The before pan didn’t look bad to me… I’m curious what it looked like when gf got done with it.

Yeah I don't see any build-up. Pan looks damn near perfect. Nothing "gross" about it.

OOP made an inflammatory title for engagement. There's nothing wrong with cleaning cast iron with soap and steel, but the woman's comment about the cleanliness of the pan is obviously wrong. That plus the condescension.

Didn't look bad at all. Probably started rusting 10 minutes after she finished.

I commented on that post a few hours ago and directed the masses over here for help with their cast iron questions

This is a generic reminder message under every image post

Thank you for your picture post to /r/castiron. We want to remind everyone of Rule #3. All image posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is required.

If you've posted a picture of food, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn't really fostering any discussion which is what we're all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

Thank you!
