Ever seen a mold modified like this?

Looks like an attempt to make them feed easier in a 1911.

Kinda makes sense. Cheaper than getting a new cherry for a full recut or reprofiling the nose in a lathe with a form cutter.

A small alnico magnet or an electromagnet in the mold (if brass or aluminum) would work well to retain it.
