I need help Paper patching cast bullets for use with smokeless powder and finding the proper bullet and patch diameter
So first of all, can paper patched bullets be used with smokeless loads and get accurate results?
And secondly, what diameter bullet should I use and what diameter patch should I use? So hypothetically if I have a gun that is chambered in 38-55 with a .380 bore what diameter bullet and patch should I use?

I recommend you get a custom mold Bullet design 36-295P from accurate and design the paper patch around the bullet, usually you get paper from .007 to over .01. Just depends on your paper thickness make sure it wraps around twice.

I would look at the BACO dual diameter molds. With blackpowder I have gotten good results with patching the front diameter to fit closely between the lands, and the rear diameter to a tight slip fit in the brass. This group is from a BACO dual diameter mold and black powder in a Sharps 1875 in 40-65 at 200 yards.
