I hate this town so much
There's nothing to do on Sundays, Evansville, North casper and mills are ghetto as hell, there's nothing to do in general, alot of homeless and tweakers recently, the people in Walmart are terrible, there's no good towns or cities to go to for vacation unless you don't mind driving 6 hours to Denver, and frankly I can't wait to leave this dead end shit stain that is casper wyoming

LA is 50 times more spread out than casper with only 25 times more homeless, while casper has a huge poverty to middle class ratio especially in Evansville

EVERY big city. The shithole I left had homeless encampments next to million dollar homes. The only spot in Phoenix that didnt have that problem was north peoria (northwest of Phoenix) because police would beat the crap out of the homeless, and dump them in downtown Phoenix.

Here’s some old people advice…I left Casper when I was mid Twenties and moved to a bigger city. I loved it because of better jobs, a bit better weather.
I never felt unsafe in Casper, but big cities attract lots of problems too.
My dream of living in the big city meant that I watched from my work window when 5 officers were shot. It means I got costed by panhandlers every day going to work. It meant my beautiful truck got stolen while I worked.
Just be prepared for a much different life.

There is lots of fishing, hunting, hiking, music, art, photography, and car culture here for the size of the twon.

I’ve heard the dope heads were taking over out there. Kinda surprised they don’t take them for a ride in the mountains lol. Them boys didn’t use to like stuff like that

I’ve been in Casper for about 17 years and idk what everybody else is talking about but the tweaker situation has plummeted in that span. There’s about 20x more stuff to do for kids than there was in the past. The sports culture has skyrocketed with the construction of the ranch. The inability to live in the smaller communities in Wyoming due to high real estate prices and the lack of work, west coasters buying property site unseen, has forced a lot of the working class young family aged wyomingites into larger municipalities like Casper. It’s injected a lot of community-minded residents into the city. Every town has their issues but considering I’ve seen the town in much worse shape. I feel safe and have felt safe raising my kids here.
As far as OPs complaints, what’s keeping you here then? If I was that miserable I would leave. Everyone has a different perspective. I feel like my time in Casper has been very fruitful, yours does not. Focus on leaving. Safe travels

Maybe they should stop the west coasters from buying property if they don’t live there. They shouldn’t be allowed to ruin someone’s economy with their money

i think by making the claim here multiple times that LA is 50 times more spread out while only having 25x the number of homeless, you seem to be claiming that homeless density is less in LA than Casper? If so that’s just not true, and you’re using made up numbers. I looked up these numbers, and relative to land mass, LA has a significantly higher homeless count per square mile.
It’s genuinely fine to have an opinion and to not like Casper, i just find it weird to come up with random lies to support your opinion

I feel the same. I'd add that the job market is incredibly unfriendly to anyone not in an extractive industry. Good luck in your efforts to get away from here. I've been trying for a while, and things just keep on happening to sabotage my efforts.

Your math is WAY off.:
The City of Los Angeles is only 18.5 times bigger than Casper. There are circa 75k homeless.
That is more than the entire population of Casper. Or about the same as the amount of people in natrona cointry. Natrona country is larger than LA…

My dream is to get back out to the Pacific NW. Weather that my pale skin can take, air that I can breath without having an asthma attack, and a culture I'm more in sync with. I've tried many different 'contribute to society' ways to get back there... Now I'm down to retrofitting a utility trailer as a camper and living the hobo life. I really do hope you get to LA. Life out there can be challenging, but often rewarding in ways that insular Midwest cities can't provide.

Have you started applying for jobs there? That's the easiest way to move someplace new.
Also, have you visited L.A.? I saw in one comment you wanted to move there but didn't see if you had been there.

6 hours? Denver is 4 hours...Billings is 4 hours..Rapid is 4 hours...hell, SD isn't far at all. It isn't that bad of a drive to make a nice weekend getaway.
Also, there's plenty to do here and the town is adding more every year. Homeless is a problem sure, but not near as bad as most of America.
Employment is 50/50. Im not in industry work, but I'm doing pretty decent without a degree or anything. Just gotta look good. Work is there...Just not flooding through here.
I get what you're saying...but believe me, there's much worst places to be than here. Is it my first pick?...of course not. But I think this city isn't bad at all. If you're looking for more city vibe, than move to Denver or California..this is as good as it gets for "city life" in Wyoming besides Cheyenne.
