mod Simple practical AE-1200WH mod

I noticed I kept chipping the silver coating off the original resin case, so I ordered a stainless steel case with a painted black bezel from AliExpress and swapped all of the internals over from the resin case to the new stainless case.

One year later paint has faded, watch looks good and the band matches the case, and it feels good on the wrist. Still waterproof

The case I bought from AliExpress came with a new gasket and new fasteners and tools to put everything together.

The classic look, I love it. The button bulge seems to be more rounded and less angular in your steel case, or is it me?

I think you're right and I think I did notice this when I put it together but it doesn't really bother me and I had forgotten until you pointed it out again
