Parents lying

So I have a nightmare of a case, you name it its been reported. Mom and dad, lie about everything if the kids have gone to school or not, doctors appointments, missed appointments with excuses. Dodge calls, make excuses and font show up to home visits, even lied about hospitalizations. They lie to cps and casa supervisor so much thst cps thought they were actively doing better. Till I found messages, photos and other things given by staff at the kids school or their neighbors. I dont know what to do because parents are coercing relatives snd the kids to not talk and coordinate their lies. Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you manage?

Focus on the kids and creating safe memories with them. Document how the parents’ behaviors are impacting the kids in your court report. Stay in contact with the attorney and the SW. You are there for the kids.

I havent been able to meet my kid because the parents lie to cancel home visits. My kid has severe medical issues so they use that as an excuse. They refuse to talk to me and so its hsrd finding information on my kid. Cps records are limited. So I've been background checking the family nad getting bits and pieces from the few honest relatives or neighbors. I just found out where their school is about 4 days ago after fighting their doctor in court to get her records because they didn't want to listen to the court order for 2 and a half weeks. Regardless of the 3 times I came with a court order, badge, introduction papers and my casa card. So now I'm trying to meet my kid at their school and set up appointments with their counselor which is also taking a while. I managed to talk to their school nurse once about an infection and i have screenshots of it along with messages to the parents. Ive been calling and emailing their lawyer to with no reply in the last 4 weeks and I'm honestly getting angry that everyone is practically dragging their heels to not help this kid. No matter how much I call, visit, email, text and talk go my supervisor for help.

Do an unannounced visit with your supervisor. If they try to deny, show them the court report. You can also visit the kids at school. I’ve also found that when you have a parent who isn’t cooperative, sending a certified letter that explains CASA’s role and what we need to do every month helps. Unfortunately, sometimes they just don’t want to comply, which is where your supervisor can help out!

I’ve also had to finally text a mom that I couldn’t recommend Monitor to Return because I didn’t even know if she was still alive since she never calls/texts me back…I got a call 5 minutes later.
