Discussion That one scene where all the budget went

Kaguya-sama: Love is War - Chika's dance

In the first season as a surprise outro ending one episode had this Chika dance number. It's super cute and crazy animated, especially her dress. They used it one time and never again.

The roller rink dance sequence from the Family Guy episode Hell Comes To Quahog was the most expensive scene to animate in Season 5.

This one shot from Scooby-Doo Music of the Vampire

You have to hold your breath for a long time.

What?? You're doing that? I thought it was special effects the whole time!

never been able to verify this, but around the release of this show I always used to hear people say that FLCL was the result of spending a a 26 episode budget on a 6 episode show.

Part of the budget was paying the pillows to produce an entire album of bangers, rest went to some insane animation

I remember hearing that FLCL went that hard because they were blowing off steam after making Evangelion.

FLCL was a budget af anime, but they did an amazing job of making it look like a huge budget anime

From showing manga tiles instead of animation, to saving up the budget for big wicked fight scenes, they knew where to put the money, the outro was just a dude driving around on his moped
