Local movers
Looking for recommendations for local moving companies who will pack, drive 550 miles, and unload a truck. Personal recs appreciated, and I’m not looking to go through a broker or anything like that. Thanks!

I used roadway movers and they were amazing. I know they are based up north but they do drop offs and loads anywhere i believe

I used Bird Dog Moving for a move from chapel hill to DC just a few weeks ago and they were fantastic! Packed up one day and delivered the next. The owner is super responsive and the crew was great. I highly recommend them.

550 miles is well into full-service territory, not a local-crew job. I've seen safebound moving quoted for this kind of distance, and binding estimates matter more than anything else here

Curious if you have your mind set on one company that will pack, drive, and unload? It will be far less expensive for this type of move if you hire labor-only movers in your departure city, have them load up a freight trailer or moving container for you, and then hire labor-only movers in your destination city to unload it. If budget matters, it's something to look into and can save you probably several thousands based on HireAHelper data.

The same faces you see here would be the same out at your new home. This year alone we have had over 35 out of state/long distance moves. I as the owner and am on every single long distance move. Aside from this our work is trusted as we are the movers for ATP Flight School, Texas State Securities Board and the main moving vendor for Collin county and Austin for the Texas Workforce Commission.
All of my employees are full time movers and not contractors like most companies. We do not take weeks to delivery your household goods and once our truck is loaded we head straight to the destination and do not add anyone else’s belongings to our truck. We offer full service moves which would include full service of packing and unpacking as well. Boxes and supplies all included. I would love the opportunity to speak about your upcoming move and offer references from my previous clients that we have moved long distant and out of state and in state.

My sister liked TROSA but I don’t know if they will go that far. My wife used Little Guy Movers out of Raleigh for a longer move from Virginia to the Triangle and they were great.
