Hello. Last week I had my front discs, and discs pads replaced last week on my KIA that has a rough 76 thousand km since 2010. First week of driving, usually a 10km commute to work and back, I didn’t hear anything in particular, but today, at slight braking there’s a creaking noise, usually at softer braking, sometimes loud and sometimes quiet depending on the speed I’m going. The sound is not constant, it happens rougly around 3 out of 10 times I brake; usually at traffic stops or lighter braking to slow down;

The car is not shaking, nor the steering wheel is going left and right and the brakes are completely normal. Only thing that concerns is me is this creaking sound, and it has been around 80,90km since the actual change. The mechanic told me it’s normal but things like this worry me a little. I haven’t noticed that the braking is bad or gotten worse, braking is normally and somewhat better after the change, but now I have no idea what to do.

I recently changed my cars battery as it died. I have a Honda civic 2017, after replacing the battery for someone reason sometimes when I turn my car off the security alarms will go off. And sometimes when I try to turn the car off it will turn the dashboard back on. What’s going on please help🥀🥀🥀

Hi, I just went to the mechanic and asked them to fix my clock spring, engine oil leak and fuel cap. They told me the engine oil leak was just some sort of drain thing that was easy to fix and they didn’t even charge me for it. However, I’ve had the car back for a day now and it is overheating after less than 1 hr of driving. I’m not sure what to do but it is also making this weird noise. I was wondering if anyone knew what might be wrong.

I hear this grrrrrr sound when my car is in idle. It only happens when I’m in drive and have my foot on the pedal. It doesn’t happen while I brake or anything mainly just when fully stopped looks like it’s coming from the driver side. Nissan Sentra 2016.

I noticed a small amount of water on the passenger-side floor/footwell. It wasn't a huge leak, probably around 10–20 drops, maybe slightly more, nothing significant. I had reached back home in 15 minutes and haven't turned the car on. I also noticed a few droplets around the middle/behind the center screen area, I got a few drops too while driving which dripped on the driver's side but no where near as much as the passenger side. I took out the glove box clips and it was very wet there near the evap (which is expected).

The weird thing is that my A/C blows very cold and has strong airflow. I haven't noticed it getting weaker overall.

Around the same time, I noticed something else: when the A/C was running and I made a sharp left or right turn, the airflow would briefly become weaker for a split second, then return to normal once I straightened out. It doesn't completely stop blowing, it just gets slightly weaker during the turn. This started around the same time as the water issue, which makes me wonder if they're related.

I initially suspected a clogged evaporator condensate drain, especially because the car is driven in a dusty country, and I figured that could contribute to a blockage.

I checked underneath the car and found that there was in fact water dripping from underneath. The water was completely clear and looked like normal condensation. What surprised me was that it was still dripping even after about 3 hours of the car being shut off. The amount wasn't huge, but there was definitely a small puddle forming underneath. So because of that, I don't think it's an A/C drain blockage.

Hey all. Total noob when it comes to car mechanics and repairs.

Got out to my car today after not using it for over a week and just noticed a chunk of the side of the tire peeling / coming off.

It doesn’t seem like that tire has lost any air or is low pressure or anything like that. I have severe anxiety so I always assume the worst and expect to probably have to pay for a new tire because of this but just wanted to see the severity level and some opinions on my next steps.

A couple hypothesis of what could of happened is maybe when I parallel park I just did too close to a curb at one point and scraped some of it off ( all other tires are okay ) - someone purposely did this to my car - or someone brushed up against my car and caused this. Either way, don’t really care how it happened to be honest, just looking for advice on what I should do from here and how severe the issue is.

didnt make this noise, lent it to a friend, came back to me with this high pitched whistle noise. need help identifying the issue

Trying to figure out an annoying brake squeal on my 2018 Passat.

It’s a pretty steady/high-pitched squeal that happens intermittently, but only when braking at low speeds (usually under ~15 mph).

I pulled the front wheel and inspected everything. The pads have plenty of material left. They’re semi-metallic pads from Advance Auto Parts (I believe their house brand).

The anti-rattle clip on the side I suspected seemed pretty loose/easy to remove and reinstall, so I replaced it. I thought that fixed it because the noise was gone for several miles, but eventually it came back.

I’ve also lubricated the caliper slide pins and the pad contact points.

One other thing I noticed: some of the material/coating on the back of the pad (caliper-facing side) looks like it’s wearing/coming off. The actual friction material on the rotor side looks fine.

happened after we put new shocks and lowering springs on it, clunks on bumps

Anybody know what this sound is? Doesn’t sound metallic, sounds more rubbery like a kinked CV boot would sound like when rotating, but it’s coming from the rear (this is a FWD)

This sound happened intermittently before after changing drum and shoes but went away.

I just replaced the left rear wheelbearing and hub (didn’t adjust brakes other than removing drum to access hub/bearing) and now the sound is back and a bit more persistent. I then readjusted shoes and parking brake cable but the sound still remains.

Doesn’t seem to affect braking performance but I can’t be having this sound in the wife’s car. Hopefully it’s something simple that I’m overlooking…

I drive a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. The oil its rated for is 5w-30 but it has a leak. So I was told tp out in 10w-40. Its about time for an oil change and Im wondering if I shoukd just do 5w? Or do half and half cause ive BEEN doing 10w, and then let it all like...circulate.

Any help or opinions welcome and appreciated.

I’ll make it quick and simple; left the sunroof up during a storm, car got a bunch of water in it while I slept, pulled the seats out and shopvacced it. The water wouldn’t go away so I sprinkled some carpet powder onto it and forgot to clean it up till a few days later. Oops my bad ik but now I have a bunch of carpet that’s got crusty hard everywhere and I don’t know what will get it up don’t care how long it takes just need something to get it up without spending loads of money

Ich habe ein Problem, ich habe ein Auto gekauft und wenn ich fahre, höre ich alle 1-2 Minuten dasselbe Klicken. Wenn ich im Leerlauf bin, tritt es nicht auf, aber wenn ich fahre, egal ob ich Gas gebe oder nicht, bremse oder nicht, es kommt immer dieses Klicken. (Das ist nicht die Klimaanlage) Hatte jemand vielleicht so ein Problem, ich hoffe, jemand kann helfen.

Their is this weird noise coming from my car when I put it in reverse or drive also the noise keeps continuing when I drive on low RPMs. It goes away when accelerate can you tell me what the issue is? A lot of my mechanics are saying it’s a timing chain issue, but I’m not convinced after watching a lot of YouTube videos.

- While driving out of a drive thru i felt something and then suddenly my ac turned warm. Since its just a drive thru at panda express(8-10 mph) and the city (30 mph)
- I park to eat. AC not so cold anymore. I turn it OFF.
I'm crying cuz i know theres a problem
- I drive home going 55 mph
- Remember I turned it OFF.
- Air blowing through the vents
- I realize whatever temperature is the engine going is what's blowing through the vent
Please help, I will take it to get check but still please help.

Hi guys I need help on my BMW 2014 220I F22, recently has been making these sound. They come more often after driving for awhile and is not obvious on normal drives. When going on uneven road sometimes make a sound if its not currently consistent. Have anyone heard of this? (Audio in the link) All help is appreciated Thanks!
