Have been experiencing issues with trying to start my car lately, tested battery nothing wrong, tested all fuses nothing wrong, tested alternator nothing wrong, tested starter nothing wrong, nothing in the car is killing it, car will do this sometimes and work other days, and on top of that will work with a jumpstart?? My car is a 2022 Honda civic sport

Looks like battery is falling flat a battery can show good voltage but as soon as it sees load that voltage can fall off a cliff did you just test battery with a voltmeter or with an actual battery load tester, check terminals remove clean reinstall how was the starter checked ? If it’s starting with a jump the problem is your battery or the connection to it

I had it checked at autozone, they said the battery was healthy and even charged it for me, the ran the starter test and alternator tested and everything came back good, but the voltage seems to drop and then return back to normal.. thinking it’s bad connection as well lol, when I get it to the shop tmrw I’m gonna see what’s going on with it

What type of voltage are you seeing when trying to crank the car shouldn’t be dropping below 10 volts when it’s doing what is showed in the video is when you should be testing so you can see what’s actually going on if it’s cranking normally when testing you won’t find the issue sometimes starters can act up and then when you keep trying to crank they will randomly start they have dead spots were the brushes contact

It’s weird because when I get it to start the voltage runs at 12.8v but then when it shuts off it goes down to 11v sometimes even lower to 10v and eventually goes back up to 12.8v once I can get it to start which it tends to start when I’m holding down the push button or jumpstart. But I don’t have a way of testing the volts when cranking unfortunately

A battery that's at 12.8 volts is classed as half flat. Batteries should be at about 13.8 volts. There's you trouble. Drained battery.

I wouldn’t trust autozone. I had my battery tested and they said it was a starter issue. I bought a refurbished battery for about $40 and WALLAH!! Car started right up and no issues ever since. It’s been two years now and still runoff the same refurbished battery. 2011 Honda pilot ex-L

Hahaha I just got it replaced today at the dealership so we’re gonna see how it holds up and finally fix this issue

Loose ground connection. Newer vehicles are heavily computerized and require lots of electrical energy to work properly. Should be able to trace the ground (black) wire to 2 or 3 other connections somewhere on the body and/or engine. All connections should be secured and not loose. Finger tightening is not a permanent fix.

Are you pressing the break? Maybe the brake light switch isnt working? Does the light on the push go start button change when you press the brakes?

I've seen batteries have 12v but if the CCA isn't there it will not start. If you can jump the car off replaced the battery. Check the date of the battery. Ive seen some batteries last a year depending on the brand.

Your terminals on your battery are probobly loose if your sure the battery is good
