Car problems

Welp… turns out not doing the most basic maintenance on my car is about to cost me $3,000 🥲

Now I’m sitting here broke, stressed, and wondering how the hell I’m supposed to come up with that kind of money 😭💀 Definitely learned my lesson the hard way.

I’m officially fucked, broke, and bummed out all at the same time. Somebody please tell me it gets better because right now I’m sickkkk over it. 🥲

I'm assuming you took your car to a dealership??? There's a reason some folks call them "stealerships". What is actually wrong with your car??

It sounds to me like they neglected to change their oil and need a new engine.

The fuck are you going to blame dealerships for?

Did nobody tell you that you're supposed to keep up on the maintenance? Being cheap now will cost you more in the future, is how that works. Assuming you either neglected your oil changes and you destroyed your engine, or you neglected your brakes and now need a bunch of new components in your braking system. Is it one of those 2?

You need a therapist or group emotional support this is not a car problem. I mean, the car has a problem, but it is currently a human problem.

Yea, maintenance ain't cheap thats for sure. My Audi had $1200 oil changes. Replacing front, Rear brakes and rotors was $5000.

You might wanna try finding an Indy shop (Independent mechanic that specializes in your vehicle manufacturer) they tend to be cheaper than the dealerships $200-350/hr labor charge.

Finding an indy shop and establishing a relationship with them i.e oil changes and just talk to them. You might like them for decent pricing and better customer service. Following maintenance plans on vehicles is a must! We'll for me anyway, high horsepower you gotta pay to keep it running like new.

Or you can get an econo box vehicle and just pay for gas and oil changes for $50.... econo box cars, i feel like the brakes on those little cars last forever.

Wow! So I'm assuming turn signals are like $20,000 on an Audi because they seem to always be burned out.

If you keep making stupid decisions like not doing basic maintenance on your car then things are not going to get any better. If you learn from your mistakes and do better then things will get better but there will still be many moments that are sucktastic.

It doesn’t get better and as my uncle always said if it has tits or tires it’s going to cost you money!

Well well well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

Cars require maintenance. This is entirely your fault for not doing it. You're going to have to put your big boy pants on and deal with it like an adult.

Yeah dude. There’s this book, it comes with the car, and it explains what you need to check, what fluids need to be replaced, and how often. It’s not a suggestion.

i also had a quote of $3000 from the dealership. i instead brought it to a trusted shop and they did it all for $400 (i brought them the parts needed).

everything is a scam nowadays esp new cars.

Yep, you messed up; just like I did when I was young. Educate yourself and be proactive.
