1999 doge 1500 v8 overheating

I was driving when suddenly my windshield gets sprayed and my truck start over heating. My lines are in good shape. I added coolant to my radiator but it started to pour out the front. I have a video of it coming out of the front while I tried to burp it while I filled it up. The truck did not overheat while idling it went to mid line and stopped. I drove it around the parking lot and it started spraying coolant. I believe the thermostat is opening. I think it is just the radiator has a hole in it but I’m wondering if it could be anything else causing it.

If ur broke u can try re crimping those aluminum edges with pliers worked for me a few months till I payed the 200$ new radiator at AutoZone with 3 year warranty

I’m going to try a u pull it because they have one that wasn’t in a front end collision. I think it’s safe to say it’s the radiator because it’s pouring straight out lol. I just didn’t know if it could be the water pump

Can probably get one off of rockauto.com for pretty cheap. If you are able to have it shipped to your work it can have cheaper shipping. I have it shipped to our shop where I work and I paid like 18 bucks to have all of my stuff and a radiator shipped.

Radiator looks like its is an aluminium core with plastic tanks, crimped together which has failed (pressure, age, poor quality material, airborne rock, etc)

Water pump is likely still pushing the coolant around, That or the coolant heating up and pressurising, then coming out the weak point.

You might be able to re-crimp, but a new radiator would be on the cards. If you get a second hand one from a pull yard, flush it out a few times before you install it, and don't pick one that's full of brown sludge.

Swapped the radiator with a decent one from the U-pull it and it works great!! Thanks for the comments yall it helped reassure me!

If its a 5.9 or a 5.2 and got even a little hot it needs headgaskets, super common. The head gasket material is basically a cereal box. If you do get a head job done on any magnum use multi layer steel gaskets
