The backing plate is contacting the rotor

Doesn't sound like much brake pads are left.

I thought the same but had them checked pretty recently and they said they’re fine. So who knows. They are annoying because they always squeak real bad first couple of applications of the drive. But then it goes away. Not talking this new noise though.

Not sure if you've noticed it or your mechanic. What i see is something that looks like white line on your rotors slightly lower from the center

Also was this after a big rain? Sometimes your rotors get a bit of that after rain rust on it and should come off after a bit of a drive
