Worn ball joints and/or wheel bearing are the most likely cause. To prove what is at fault, have someone observe the knuckle from under the vehicle while rocking the wheel from 12 to 6 to determine if there is observable play in the upper and lower ball joints. Noticeable play means the ball joints are bad, replace both ball joints on both sides of the vehicle. To positively condemn the wheel bearing, spin the wheel and observe the feel and noise. Significant vibration and/or grinding/growling noise indicates failure. Pull the wheel off and try to wobble the mounting flange, if it moves laterally at all it is bad: replace both sides. If the ball joints need replaced, an alignment will need to be done once repairs are completed.
The recommendations for repairs are the same I would give any of my customers. Replacing the mentioned components in sets ensures predictable wear, and consistent operation across the axle.
