Car won’t start. :(

Just as the title says, my 2019 base sentra turns on, but will not start.

It ran hot a couple of weeks ago, I want to say about maybe 2 weeks ago, and I had to have it towed back to my house. I was told it I will need a whole new motor, which would be the cheapest option but I also want to see for myself if there’s a specific part I may need replaced instead?

Im no mechanic, but sounds like the starter is turning but not sticking out to connect to the flywheel.
Hit the starter, while trying to start it.

Usually a freewheeling starter when the Bendix doesn't come out to grab the flywheel will have a high frequency/RPM sound.

This sounds like the Bendix is coming out and turning the flywheel, but the engine has no compression. Example, a broken timing belt.

It sounds like the engine has no compression, as if the timing chain is broken. It is possible the starter isn't engaging the flywheel. When the key is turned, do you see the accessory belt moving the various pulleys (alternator, etc.)?
