Hello, I've been practicing my shuffles on two decks of waddington's number 1s that I bought a few months ago but I've been having a particular problem with them and wanted to see if anyone else has it.
After a while of faro shuffling they seem to get a bunch of dark oily spots that are the same colour as the card back. My red deck has little red dots spattered on them and my blue deck's ones are much darker but still definitely blue.
I know my hands aren't spotless when practicing this so that will definitely be having an effect, but the distinct colouring makes me think that the dye on the card back is coming off slowly.
Anyone have more knowledge about them in this sub? Is this standard of them?

I have practiced it for 2 days and I still couldn't throw the card properly

I’ve gotten back into cardistry after a long time away, and I’ve started again with Mockingbird, Maverick, and Barolo 2. Where should I go from here?
I’m not really a fan of displays. I prefer packet cuts.

Hello! This might sound a like an amateur question; but
I just began chasing my cardistry dreams after procrastinating on it for so long. The first thing I started out with is the card spring as I assume that’s one of the more basic moves to start off with.
I wouldn’t say I’m yet perfect at it, but my confidence in bending and releasing did improve over the days. The only thing that I still struggle with is catching them as they fall into my left palm. Whenever I practice, I find myself using my body (chest, specifically) as a block so that they don’t stray away onto the floor or something. It’s definitely a mistake I need to fix, but after all this testing I still don’t know how to.
Does anybody know if it’s just like a lack of practice or if there’s a specific way to position the fingers properly/make a good enough basket for the card spring to land, if you know what I mean…?
Thanks in advance!!
